2 Ingredient Treats

Baked Apple Chips

It’s so easy to make apple chips, all you need is apple slices and one ingredient....cinnamon!

1. Cut apples into slim slices, about 1/8 inch.  (I never measure; I just slice them as thin as I can.)

2. Place them on a cookie sheet with parchment paper (or they may stick). Make sure they are not overlapping.

3. Sprinkle with cinnamon (you do NOT need to add sugar, apple chips are already sweet!)

4. Bake at 250 degrees for about 2 hours, until crisp.

5. You can flip them after 1 hour and add more cinnamon, but I usually do not flip mine and they still come out great!

How Long Do Apple Chips Last?

You are going to want to eat them right out of the oven, but in case you do not finish them, you can store them in an airtight container in a cool place and they should last 2 days.

Experiment With These Added Spices:

Ginger, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, or allspice.

Frosty and DELICIOUS (licking my lips as I type this)

8:51 PM Jackie Mart 0 Comments

Summer means ice cream, malts, popsicles, and anything cold and frozen! I've been noticing a lot of families frequenting the local Dairy Queen in my south Minneapolis neighborhood. Here is a healthy, clean eating version of those tasty chocolate malts or Wendy's Frosties you may have grown up on! I blend this up when I am craving chocolate

Cocoa Smoothie

Ingredients:

1-2 scoops chocolate whey or chocolate vegan protein powder
1⁄4 -1⁄2 can coconut milk
1 teaspoon organic cocoa or cacao powder
1⁄2 - 1 teaspoon spoonable stevia
1 tablespoon hemp seed or coconut oil (optional)
1 teaspoon almond butter (optional)

*Add water or ice to desired consistency. Blend. And of course drink it out of a fancy glass! :-)

Need a Lift?

9:44 PM Jackie Mart 0 Comments

I may seem strong but sometimes I am not. I crashed and burned... But that's what happens when you work too much, don't relax, sleep, or take time for yourself! This past week has definitely not gone as planned and I am very thankful for the friends, clients, and my mom for checking up on me! It's the start of a new week-no matter what happens know there are always people who care and love you!

This Just Happened

I have wanted one of these for over a year now! I was wandering around Walgreens and spotted this one! $15 well spent! I cannot wait to make some raw dishes with zucchini, carrot, squash and cucumber noodles!  A great grain-free and Paleo alternative to pasta.

Make Life Less Complicated

Constantly worrying about what others think about you is like living in a prison cell. Love and accept yourself and focus on your own life, not pleasing others! Once you learn to do this you will set yourself free! Don't make your life more complicated and chaotic than it already may be!

Vitamin C for Gorgeous Skin

11:58 AM Jackie Mart 0 Comments

Your skin needs vitamin C to produce collagen for more elasticity, a smoother appearance and fewer lines. Research has been found that a diet that lacks in this vitamin produces more wrinkles! Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant; it protects skin from the damaging effects of the sun, stress and pollution and helps even out the skin tone. True beauty and radiance starts from the inside out! ;-)
